is a designer specialized in the impact of light on circadian rhythms. Together we decided to combine our two worlds to create the Eclipse Lamp, a walnut lamp with a mechanical brass system to reflect the light source into space.

In the age of the Anthropocene, our relationship with living things is put into perspective. How can the micro communicate with the macro ? How can we perceive our surroundings by making the invisible visible ?

With the Eclipse lamp, we wanted to bring together two worlds: mechanical and organic. Two apparently opposed relationships to the world.

Using a principle of mirror reflection, the lamp's lighting draws a crescent moon, materialising the surface of the brass disc through the light. The light reveals microscopic flaws, invisible to the naked eye but very much there.

It's like a magnifying glass on the surface of the visible, repositioning our relationship with the world.
